    - This chapter is about the design of microcontroller based projects using the text based LCDs. The chapter gives examples of tested and working projects. Early projects are simple and they are about displaying text and numbers on LCDs. More advanced examples cover the design of LCD based dice, custom font generation, LCD based voltmeter, and measuring and displaying ambient temperature and pressure. Finally, the design of the simple but classical High/Low computer game is given. Here, the microcontroller guesses an integer number between 1 and 32767. The user is then asked to guess this number by entering his or her guesses using a 4 × 4 keypad. The microcontroller displays messages when user's guess is high or low so that he or she can try a new guess. A success message is given when the number is guessed correctly.
