    - his paper describes a Radar based Automatic Collision Warning System (RACWS) for vehicles. The system is based on a millimeter wave radar, which measures the distance from a vehicle to the vehicle in front of it and also the distance to the vehicle approaching from the opposite lane. The system also determines the speeds of the vehicles involved and informs the driver whether or not it is safe to over-take without a collision.
